Objective

HSBC’s marketing objective was to promote HSBC’s global value proposition and further the company’s position as a thought leader, well attuned to the needs and interests of commercial banking customers and prospects. As a tactic to achieve this, HSBC was seeking an opportunity to share compelling ideas and experiences with a select group of CEOs and senior-level decision-makers from companies in a targeted revenue bracket who were likely to have international financial services needs.

Solution

Through a breakfast discussion event format, RSL created a forum for HSBC to meet and network with, and provide strategic thought leadership to, small business owners and decision-makers, the majority being prospects. Our team provided strategic input on event content and theme to help marry the HSBC products and services with the current small business environment. In addition, RSL coordinated marketing efforts including design, printing, and distribution of print and e-mail invitations; blog promotion; and print advertising. To increase the reach and impact of the event with editorial coverage, RSL produced an article highlighting the key takeaways from the event, which was published on multiple platforms.

Results

RSL was able to leverage relationships with the NYC area business community in New York, with a focus on select industries that were identified by HSBC.  Over 100 qualified attendees, who mingled with HSBC bankers, were drawn to the panel discussion, featuring business owners (selected and prepped by RSL) who shared their stories and best practices.

The RSL-produced article was distributed through a media platform with a readership in excess of 100,000 business owners and executives as well as via HSBC bankers.
